Atturaif was the ruling district at the heart of the grand and influential mud brick city of Addiriyah. After standing for over 600 years, it was destroyed in 1818 following an Ottoman siege. The extensive ruins of Atturaif can still be seen just outside modern Riyadh. Two decades of conservation work have stabilised many of the buildings on the site and a suite of museums is planned, situated in and around the ruins.  I worked with Cultural Innovations to review interpretation across the site and accompanying museums.
